Captain Adam Fuller:
He started out with a strike against him, taking over a close-knit undercover unit that was grieving over the death of their commanding officer. But Fuller immediately took charge, cracking down on the rules that Jenko had let slide. The officers soon realized that he had a caring and gentle side under his tough exterior, and he became a mentor and friend as well as their supervisor. Fuller is a good leader, making quick decisions and trying to mete out justice as well as he can. He sometimes has to get tough with his officers when they go too far on a case or get in too deep, or when they’re not handling a case well, but he has his faults too. He has had problems with drinking & has violent tendencies that he sees in himself and works hard to overcome. He is divorced and has a son that he rarely sees. He grew up in a violent home. Captain Fuller is a man who has dragged himself out of a bad situation and fought for his position, and he continues to fight to keep it. He sympathizes when Hoffs encounters racism and prejudice, he explains the necessity of rules to Booker, and he sometimes turns a blind eye when his officers are "officially" off a case and still want to solve it. While he recognizes that his officers are older and more experienced in life than the teenagers and college students they are working around, he also sees that they need his help sometimes, and he is always there with a shoulder to cry on, some words of encouragement or a swift verbal kick in the butt, whatever is needed. He believes strongly in the need for the Jump Street program and fights for it when the downtown police department and city hall want to cut off funding. When the officers go on strike, he goes on patrol in uniform, explaining to an outraged Booker that he agrees with what they are doing but he must follow orders since he is management. Sometimes he even goes undercover himself, playing a boyfriend or father to Hoffs if necessary.
