Commentary:

Cyndi Glass: I really enjoyed this. Unfortunately, it’s the last of Booker. It’s funny to see them acting so silly, in a case that has such deadly consequences. Hoffs is hysterically funny as a trashy biker girl with big hair and a red leather fringed jacket, showing up and demanding to be taken along (in character as the biker girl pretending to be Penhall’s girlfriend and also in "real life" as Hoffs, who is pissed off about being left out of the case). I realize that Hanson can’t be part of the case, since Crane knows him, but surely he would recognize Fuller and Penhall from court? And I have a lot of trouble believing that Hanson would be a cocky little sexist and override her to take command of the unit and sit in Fuller’s office to eat grapes and play King For A Day, dismissing her seniority and credentials (she did, after all, make detective, which he has not) with the comment "you’re a girl." If it’s supposed to be funny, it fails. Hanson has always been decent and gentle with Hoffs, from Jenko’s graveside in #7 "Gotta Finish The Riff" to being the first one she confided in about being raped (and the one whose apartment she hid at) in #63 "Stand By Your Man," an episode that just recently aired).
