Photo: Captain Geiberger congratulates Ernie Fortunato on his promotion. With Ernie (Dom DeLuise) are his wife, Carol (Carol DeLuise) and his two sons, Peter (Peter DeLuise) and David (David DeLuise)
Plot Summary: Dom DeLuise, Jerry Reed, Suzanne Pleshette and Luis Alvalos star as four undercover cops who take over a pawn shop to videotape and bust people selling stolen goods.
Commentary: Does this premise sound familiar to you? Wait till you SEE the movie. Doug (Jerry Reed) could be Hanson, with his cocky attitude and light-blue cool sportscar. Ernie (Dom DeLuise) could be Penhall (naturally!) with his wonderful humor and blunt gentleness. Suzanne Pleshette's character, Louise, is just as smart and feisty as Hoffs ever was, and Luis Alvalos plays a character, Ramon, who is brainy and stays in the background for most of the movie, similar to Ioki. And, yes, they have a tough black captain, too. The cop who demands protection payment is the same actor who played Hanson's partner in the 21 Jump Street pilot. Dom’s wife was played by his real-life wife, Carol, and his two sons, Peter and David, were played by Peter and David DeLuise, at around age 11 and 5. The boy who brings in the fish at the end of the movie and gets cocky with the officers is none other than Michael DeLuise, at around age 8 or 9. He's Joey all over. Peter and David are in scenes with the family. David cries & Ernie yells at Peter: "You comfort him - you broke his ass!" as Peter giggles about it. Rent this movie - the 6 minutes or so of the DeLuise kids is worth the price all by themselves, but the movie as a whole is pretty cool. Don't forget to watch the credits roll!

David cries, and "Ernie" comforts him. Yes, that's Peter in the background!

"You comfort him -you broke his ass!" Ernie tells Peter.

The "boy with fish" (Michael DeLuise) comes into the shop and delivers a dead fish - a message from the mob.

"Sure you can spare it?" Michael's character asks sarcastically when Doug (Jerry Reed) offers him a dime. On the right, that's Michael in the credits.
