Missing Persons Re-Issues

Comments from Patrick O'Hearn and Chuck Wild, Nov. 2000

On the occasion of the re-release of these CDs, Patrick O'Hearn graciously took a few moments to send a comment: "All I can say is that Missing Persons was an excellent band. We made some fine music and shared a lot of laughs and good times together. I'm glad that these two albums are once again being made available for a glimpse back into what we were up to back then." Chuck Wild also took some time to send something for fans: "I think Missing Persons was a short but stellar moment in pop musical history, primarily because of the unusual combination of pop sensibility, lyricism, and musicality which was created by Terry, Dale & Warren in their original vision for the group. Every album had its own unique personality, which was a reflection of what was going on in the group at the time, and also the production styles of the producers. Each disk has its own merits, and each its own identity. I hope you'll enjoy listening to these songs as much as we enjoyed recording them. There was a real uniqueness and spirit in some of those old recordings, and I'm glad to see them re-released."

I asked him, "When you listen to the other ex-members of MP and the music they've gone on to make in their careers, do you see the beginnings of any of that in the MP music they made with you?" and he replied, "We had many wonderful hours of jamming together, especially in the first 24-36 months of the group, and I think that led to musical growth on the part of us all, both as a group, and individually. I think everyone in the group was extremely creative during that period, and it laid the groundwork for what we've all done since that period. Within the context of any pop group, you of course limit yourself, based on the musical identity of the group, so some of our musical proclivities may not have come out at that time. It's nice to see new aspects of the MP members emerge over time."
